In February, 1877, she taught a small class which she thought might be her last one, as she hoped to have Gilbert Eddy take over the future teaching. For his aid in this purpose she had a stenographic report of the class sessions made, but the report so failed to catch their spirit, she felt, that ever afterward she forbade the taking of any notes whatever in her classes.
