The kind of cosmological and ontological issues to which Science and Health in its own way addresses itself have engaged the human intellect from the pre-Socratics to Whitehead, Heidegger, and the physicists of the Max Planck Institute. Such issues, however, were far from being at the center of interest in the Darwinian decades of the last century.
